Pastor Chris preached an incredible message about the power of remaining anchored together. He taught that we are called to love the family that we have, not the fantasy that we have created.

Your words build the world you have to live in. What kind of world will you build?

You'll never argue anybody into the Kingdom, but a life that looks like Jesus just might lead them there. 

Anchored In Marriage was the 9th message in our Anchored series and Pastor Chris preached from 1 Peter 3:1-7. He taught that we should be able to win them without a word, build beauty from the inside out, honor your spouse like an heir, and protect the prayers of your home. 

Charm can get you noticed, but character is what gets remembered. Will your character carry you this week? 

Sometimes silence is the greatest strength in the room.

Pastor Chris continued in our series on the book of 2 Peter and brought an incredible message on the importance of endurance. He taught that Anybody can endure what they had coming. It takes grace to endure what you didn't. 

Unfair doesn’t mean unseen. If you’re walking through unfair treatment, be encouraged. You are seen by the greatest and most righteous judge!

When Jesus sees you, where are you?

Are you trying to hide from Him, or are you looking for Him? This morning we welcomed Dr. Elton Brooke, one of our elders, into the pulpit and he taught from John chapter 1. From the story of Nathaniel under the fig tree, we learned that Jesus sees us, knows us, and invites us to Himself.

What does God most deeply want for us? Relationship with Him. Will you choose that peace this week?

You live in the culture but you don’t answer to the culture.

Happy Father’s Day! Today, Pastor Chris preached out of 1 Peter 2:11-17 about the decisions we make that reflect who we belong to. He taught that we are not home yet, we must win the war we can’t see, someone is always watching, and that we must be free enough to honor, even when we don’t agree. 

Who is your master? Who do you belong to? Your life is preaching even when your mouth is closed.

The Christian life was never designed to be lived alone. Isolation is where identity does to get distorted. 

Pastor Chris preached a message today about identity that everyone needs to hear. He taught that your identity starts with coming to Jesus, that we are being built in to something bigger than ourselves, your value is defined by God, not by rejection, and we were chosen to declare His glory.

God didn't call you out of darkness so you could sit quietly in the light. Get up and follow Him in that community He is building this week!

Today we welcomed Eric Carter, one of our elders, into the pulpit and he taught on the importance of guarding your heart.

The ways in which we do that are by watching what influences us, who influences us, making sure we are properly equipped, and preforming regular inspections.

If you want to guard your heart, pay attention to what is feeding it. Will you take the time to do that this week?

A shifting world needs an unshakeable Word!

Part 5 of our Anchored series brought a powerful message about holiness, new life, and the living and active Word of God. Pastor Chris taught that the Word cleans what the world contaminates, the Word produces love that looks like Jesus, the Word remains when everything else fades, and the Word creates hunger that leads to growth. 

The answers to your issues aren’t just about willpower. They’re about the Word! Do the people around you know that you’ve been in the Word?

Whatever captures your attention will eventually shape your affection.

Pastor Chris continued in our Anchored series on the book of 1 Peter with a powerful message about holiness. He taught that holiness starts with a prepared mind, it grows where hope is fixed, requires leaving the old life behind, and is our response to the God who redeemed us. It is intentional and how we honor the redemption we have been given.

What you feed will grow. If you feed your flesh, it will grow stronger. If you feed your faith, it will grow stronger. At some point, holiness requires participation. Will you engage with it this week?

Grace was not an afterthought in the heart of God, it was already written into the story before the fall ever happened.

Pastor Chris brought the next part in our Anchored series today and took us through 1 Peter 1:10-12. He taught that there’s nothing you can add to the finished work of the cross. Salvation, a free gift given to you because of the sacrifice of Jesus, is enough in all areas and we need to take care to not make it ordinary.

Grace is not cheap and the blood of Jesus is not mundane. This is death losing its grip and hell losing people that it thought that it owned. What we have in Christ is the most valuable thing.
